More than 99.3% of the population of Niger adhere to the Islamic religion, but with increasing poverty rates in the West African country, the need for mosque construction projects to help Muslims there perform prayers and religious rituals becomes apparent. Global estimates indicate that 42% of the population in Niger live in abject poverty, and that 60% are deprived of multiple services.
